What to expect
From a first hello to ongoing sessions.
A free 15-minute call
I offer a free initial phone consultation of 15 minutes. This is a chance for us to discuss what is bringing you to counselling, for you to ask questions about how I work, and it gives you a way to decide whether I’m the right counsellor for you.
Your first session
If we decide to work together, in our first session I will ask questions to explore in more depth what’s going on for you right now, and to understand what you hope to gain from therapy. I will also explain confidentiality and boundaries for our sessions.
Our sessions
Our sessions will be guided by you. You can bring anything you wish, and we will always go at your pace. I won’t come to our sessions with an agenda for you. Instead, I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll work out together what matters most to you and where you want to go from there.
Beyond words
If you would like, we can also experiment with drawing or working with objects as an alternative to talking. This can be a useful way to explore emotions or thoughts on difficult issues when words feel hard.

The small details, so nothing is a surprise.
Where we meet
In person in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. I’ll share the full address and directions when we arrange your first session.
Access
My practice space is up two flights of stairs. If mobility is a concern, we can have a discussion about what might work best for you, including online or telephone sessions.
Online and by phone
Sessions online or by telephone work in just the same way: 50 minutes, at a regular time, from somewhere you feel comfortable and won’t be overheard.
Payment
£50 per session, by cash or bank transfer. I’ll give you the details you need when we book.
I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll work out together what matters most to you.
